The School of Arts and Sciences now offers Bainbridge-Tifton 2+2 Plans. These plans allow students to complete the first two years of B.S. degrees in biology, history and government, rural community development, and writing and communication in Bainbridge before transferring to Tifton for their last two years.

If the program map is followed, students will be able to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years and walk for graduation at the Tifton campus. The plan serves as a cost-friendly way for Bainbridge students to receive an education while staying at home for a portion of it.

Dr. Matthew Anderson, dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, said, “We are low-cost, high value, and high quality. At this time, students are very conscientious about the cost of college. Students are racking up student loan debt, etc. A significant number of ABAC students graduate completely debt free.”

“The quality of the education you’re going to get here is on par with anything you’d find anywhere else, even some of the best schools in the country, and I mean that,” Dr. Anderson continued. “Our focus on experiential hands-on learning, our internships, our various out of classroom learning experiences are unparalleled.”

Additionally, students do not have to worry about whether credits will transfer from the first two years because they are all courses regularly offered at ABAC. Participants in the 2+2 Plan also do not have to reapply to ABAC, and tuition stays the same. The plan is facilitated with their faculty advisor.

Dr. Cyndy Hall, head of the writing and communication department, said, “I think culturally it’s a much easier transition to come from Bainbridge to this campus than it would be from Bainbridge to another college.”

“One of the reasons people love ABAC is because they get a great education, and the cost is lower than somewhere else,” Dr. Hall continued. “They don’t have to have that big bump in tuition if they transfer here.”

In addition to the 2+2 Plan, students can now complete the entire B.S. history and government on the Bainbridge campus, which was an addition completed this fall. Students on the Bainbridge campus can utilize hybrid courses, which will be courses offered for both Tifton and Bainbridge students.

Dr. Joseph Njoroge, head of the history and government department, said, “We have evolved from the 2+2 and decided to deliver the whole degree on the Bainbridge campus, so students that know they want to study history and government from the beginning can get their full four-year degree there.”

“We are in a position well to serve our students. We know them, we know where they’re coming from, we know their communities, and we hope to provide our students with the key skills they can take back to their communities to grow and thrive,” Anderson said.
