Super Bowl LVII kicks off with Jalen Hurts and his Eagles going against Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs trying to bring another Super Bowl back to Arrowhead Stadium. The Super Bowl begins this Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. ET at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, following Rihanna making her return to the halftime show.
Following last week’s domination against the San Francisco 49ers with a score of 31-7, Eagles fans should be pumped up! Jalen Hurts has taken a previous 9-8 Eagles team to a 14-3 first seed in the NFC record, and is now having an MVP candidate season.
Jalen Hurts was asked about his best play of the season, and he responded with, “Season isn’t over yet,” referring to the Super Bowl and making more highlight plays.
This is Jalen Hurt’s first Super Bowl appearance going up against someone who has been to the Super Bowl 3-5 consecutive years. Patrick Mahomes’ last Super Bowl appearance in 2021 was a losing effort in a 31-9 game to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Mahomes is ready to fire back and win his second Super Bowl ring. Mahomes injured his right ankle in the divisional round against the Jaguars, but played lights-out a week later even though his running was limited.
Mahomes completed 29 of his 43 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns, guiding the Kansas City offense on a four-play, 26-yard drive in under 30 seconds to set up Harrison Butker’s game-winning field goal. On Monday, he gave an update on his health status and said “It’s definitely in a better position than it was at this time last week.” Mahomes is ready for revenge, and it isn’t going to be an easy task for Hurts. When asked who will win the Super Bowl, Raegan Duvall said “ Chiefs because Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes.” Another student here at ABAC while asked who was going to win the Super Bowl, Jakamron Ammons said, “Eagles because there on-line helped him perform, and he wants him to keep being successful!” Be sure to watch the Super Bowl this Sunday at 6:30 on Fox.
