Dear Filly…

I think my room is haunted; it’s scary! Help?

Sincerely, Haunting Victim

Dear Haunting Victim,

Boo! Did I scare you? Everyone knows ghosts aren’t real, but just in case try holding a séance, playing with a Ouija board, or leaving out snacks. Maybe by connecting with it you can convince it to leave or at least make a friend. Then it will be less scary. Remember, ghosts are just as afraid of you as you are of them. How do you know you aren’t haunting it? Good luck!

Sincerely, Filly

Dear Filly…

I am a closeted gay person that is tired of hiding. Any advice on coming out?

Sincerely, C.G.P

Dear C.G.P,

Coming out can be very difficult, especially in the south. However, it is better to live your truth than
to be scared and stuck in the closet. Closets are dark places, and no one should be forced to live in the dark. Before coming out it is important to have a support system. This can be friends or family that you know are accepting and will have your back no matter what. You could start by telling someone that you are close to. There is even a Gay-Straight Alliance on campus that would welcome you with open arms and provide a safety net and a safe place for you to be yourself if you find that you are unable to do so in other places. This could even be a good place to begin your journey with coming out. The GSA also has an Instagram and Facebook page you could message privately if you are still scared or just have questions. No matter what hap- pens, know that there are people who care for you and that will happily support you.

Sincerely, Filly
