At the beginning of each semester, ABAC hosts one of the largest student engagement events: Club Rush. New and returning stallions have a chance to explore clubs and organizations that match their interests while discovering opportunities to get involved across the campus.
ABAC offers more than 60 clubs and organizations for students to join. These groups range from Institutional Organizations, Academically Allied Organizations, and Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs). Many clubs host socials events, workshops, and service projects throughout the year.
With the 2026-27 academic year, ABAC has welcomed over 4,000 new and returning students. This marks the fourth year in enrollment growth and helps clubs with adding potential members to help bring awareness to what their club has to offer.
During Club rush, groups engage with students through informational tables with posters, flyers, food and other outreach efforts. By doing so, these efforts help spread awareness about each organization and encourage students to become involved in their club activities and events.
Mia Perez, nursing major, said that her favorite part of Club rush was “having the opportunity to explore new ways to get involved in campus activities, and making new connections. I also like the free stuff they give out”.
Gabby Salas of the Cultura Latinx Club has served on the club’s executive board for three years. She described Club rush as “a way for students to find connections, build long lasting friendships, and most importantly, a way to get involved on campus.”
Many clubs on campus are connected to specific majors or career interests. One example is the History and Government Club. Rafael King, who is on the executive board of the club, shared “I think it was interesting at club rush seeing so many people come to our table, it was a fun experience. I enjoyed talking to new students about the things our club can offer them”.
By joining, your club or organization has the chance to experience events ABAC has to offer for student engagement like the Fall Carnival, Spring Fling, and homecoming events: Sidewalk Chalk, Club Olympics, and Club of the Year.
