A new wave of excellence,
empowerment and unity is rising at
ABAC with the return of the Black
Student Union (BSU).

Once a part of ABAC’s campus,
Black Student Union has returned
reimagined and ready to leave a mark
that lasts.

This renewed chapter of BSU isn’t
just about rebuilding, it’s about recentering. The organzation stands as
a beacon for students searching for
belonging, leadership and cultural
connection.

Its mission is both simple and
powerful: to create a safe, uplifting
space for Black students while
celebrating collaboration, education
and pride in identity.

BSU was once here before, but this is a new beginning. We’re building something that lasts, something that reminds every Black student that their presence, their voice, and their story matter on this campus. The new and improved BSU is here to stay.

At a college where opportunities for cultural expression and representation have sometimes felt limited, BSU is stepping in to bridge that gap. It’s creating a space where students of African descent and their allies can connect, learn, and lead together in authenticity and strength.

This semester marks the beginning of BSU’s vision coming to life. From cultural showcases and student panels to leadership development and community-building events, the organization is determined to empower students to express themselves freely and boldly. Each gathering is designed to spark conversation, celebrate identity, and encourage growth.

Beyond events, BSU is laying a foundation for mentorship, academic success, and professional advancement.

Plans are already in motion to connect students with mentors, alumni, and other BSU chapters across Georgia, creating a support system that reaches far beyond ABAC’s campus.

“We want to cultivate leaders who carry purpose wherever they go,” said Vice President Antonio Caldwell. “BSU isn’t just about membership,
it’s about movement, legacy and transformation.”

Collaboration remains at the heart of everything BSU stands for. The organization plans to partner with student groups, academic departments, and local organizations to strengthen inclusion across campus.

Through these partnerships, BSU will continue to advocate for representation while promoting unity among all students, regardless of background. This new era of the BSU represents more than a relaunch – it’s a renewed promise to uphold diversity, leadership, and cultural pride at ABAC. It honors where the college has been while boldly shaping where it’s headed: toward a future that values
every student’s story and contribution.

This is just the beginning. BSU is more than an organization—it’s a legacy in motion. We’re creating something that will keep inspiring
long after we’re gone.

Built on unity, advocacy, and celebration, ABAC’s BSU stands as a testament to what happens when vision meets purpose. The message is
clear: BSU isn’t just back, it’s evolving, thriving and here to stay.

The BSU recently hosted a Family Feud night in Bowen Hall and plans to hold similar engaging and educational events in the future.
