Dear Filly,
How do I balance being a student and working?
Sincerely, Burnt-out Bobby
Dear Bobby,
I felt that! It’s tough enough having to worry about grades, but then you throw on working… It’s too much! The first thing I would recommend is to ask, “What lifestyle changes should I make?” Maybe you need to hit the hay earlier and the pub a bit less. I’d also suggest setting aside set times to study on days with a light workload, that way you don’t get overwhelmed! Lastly, please remember you are basically doing two jobs; it’s inevitable that you’ll struggle! If your friend had that type of workload, you’d be understanding and comfort them… so why not do the same for yourself?
Some more great life advice from Filly is to always look for a job you truly love. Like me, I run this column and drink water from my trough! It’s a dream come true for a horse like me! I think the human equivalent would be like writing for The Stallion and eating Chick-Fil-A… maybe try that!
Sincerely, Filly
Dear Filly,
Did you get to go to ThunderCon?
Sincerely, Anime Annie
Dear Annie,
ThunderCon was a blast, and you know I trotted across that stage like no one else! However, you may not have noticed since I cosplayed Shawn Burnette, and it was very accurate. I galloped around the galleries, making incredible purchases. You just know Filly went into debt buying some anime and Homestuck merch, and I also met some voice actors! I also got some delicious Korean Tteokbokki… delectable! The secret is to season it with crumbled up hay—very nutritious (but only if you’re a horse. I’m looking at YOU Henry)!
Unfortunately, I had to run out quickly after I got caught chewing on a crocheted toy at one of the vending stands… so my time was cut short. I messaged Thunder personally to get back in, and thankfully it worked! Unfortunately, I did it again, but this time I chewed on a Genshin plushie, and they asked me to leave again. Can a girl do anything???
Sincerely, Filly
