Pete Davidson, the former Saturday Night Live star and comedian, also known for his love interests and scandalous grumbling with Kanye West, performed in Albany, GA on Feb. 18 at the Albany Municipal Auditorium. Davidson’s Albany show was a part of his Wellness Check tour, which includes 14 shows spanning from February through April.
Davidson brought both laughter and tears of joy to audience members, belting out expressions of pleasure by telling about hilariously unfortunate events from his life. During his routine, he discussed the rumors of his so-called ”beef with Kanye” and the events of his relationship with the famous icon Kim Kardashian. He expressed to the audience that when he was in high school watching Kim Kardashian on TV with his friends, he told them that if he could have a chance with Kim, he would take it. He explained this was why the unpleasant publicity with West was worth every second of the unruly late night phone calls he would receive.
Along with this relationship drama, he also went on to describe more juicy details of his love life with former partner Ariana Grande. He described how he felt when he received the news of his ex-partner dating the Broadway musical actor Ethan Slater, who played SpongeBob in SpongeBob SquarePants the musical (not to be confused with voice actor Tom Kenny, who voices SpongeBob SquarePants on the TV show). He followed this with a delightful Squidward-related pun that left people on the edge of their seat excited for more “tea.”
The “king of Staten Island” also informed the audience about his newest publicity stunt with the press involving a house and his automobile. He explained the events that led him to crash into a house, but he clarified that the damage was minor. The house was being remodeled, therefore in a strange way he helped the family with their plans. But Davidson was sentenced to do community service and to visit a morgue to see a victim of a brutal car crash. He was overwhelmingly shocked with his unusual sentence and expressed his concerns to the audience as the crowd crackled at his misfortune.
One member from the audience had a distinctive laugh that left Davidson speechless. The sounds of a dolphin echoed through the auditorium and right into Davidson’s eardrums. He then tracked down the person responsible for the unexpected noise to find a woman who was intoxicated and having the night of her life. She expressed this to the audience as Davidson tried to move on, and the woman was ultimately left by her husband as he went to purchase more alcohol.
Davidson’s comedic routine including his time in rehab, bad publicity, car crash, and childhood crush on Kim Kardashian, along with the hilarious screeching audience member, had people grinning and giggling as they exited the Albany Municipal Auditorium, processing the drama they heard on stage.
Pete Davidson’s next show on his tour is Apr. 6 at The Tabernacle Atlanta in Atlanta, GA.
