The 2023 NBA playoffs are here! Everyone should be excited to watch the top eight teams that have the best record from either the Eastern Conference or the Western Conference teams battle to find which team is the best and brings home the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. The winner of the No. 1 seed-No. 8 seed battle will face the No. 4 seed-No. 5 seed winner. The winner of the No. 2
seed-No. 7 seed match will face the winner of the No. 3 seed-No. 6 seed match. The NBA playoffs are divided into four rounds.

The defending champion Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics, who met in the NBA Finals last season, had quite different paths compared to last season. Golden State Warriors who won last year’s NBA finals finished this year with the sixth seed with a record of 44-38. The Boston Celtics had a record of 57-25 finishing with the two seed coming into the playoffs.

The regular reason is over, so now each team can forget about that record to try and take each game at a time. This is all done with the hope to go all the way.

While asking a student here at ABAC what they thought about the NBA playoffs, Cody Richter said, “ Warriors are going back to back and the Hawks and the Grizzles are setting their selves for future success.”

Another student here at ABAC shared a different view on playoffs.

Gabriel Munoz said, “ The Celtics are going to win.”

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix is ranked fourth in the Western Conference, but it has been a popular Finals favorite after acquiring superstar Kevin Durant at the trade deadline. The Lakers rebuilt their roster before the deadline and finished with the second-best record in the NBA following the All-Star break.

The underdogs, such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Sacramento Kings, The Kings played their first playoff game since 2006 on Saturday, ending an NBA-record 16-year drought, and are ready for their challenge and continue this run wanting to advance in the next round of the playoffs.

The Kings are facing Stephen Curry and his Golden State Warriors who has a record of 93-42 in the
playoffs in his career.
