Dear Filly,

How do you feel about the taxidermy in Britt Hall? Are they friends?

Sincerely,

Curious Cat

Dear Curious Cat,

Well, they’re definitely MY close personal friends, but I hear the deer is kind of two-faced. It’s never been mean to me personally, but I know that some of the other animals don’t tell it secrets anymore.

Sincerely,

Filly

Dear Filly,

What are some good, fun things to do for free?

Sincerely,

Restless at ABAC

Dear Restless at ABAC,

That depends on what you consider “free,” most of the fun things you can do in Tifton require a car and the gas to power it. If you don’t have either of those things — or a friend who does — you’re out of luck. If you do, you can take part in several of the favorite pastimes of native Tiftonites, such as:

  • Walking around Wal-Mart,
  • Walking the length of the Tifton Mall,
  • Walking around Fulwood Park and complaining about how sketchy it is,
  • And, my personal favorite, driving an hour to a different town and hanging out there.

If you don’t have transportation, man, I don’t know, take a nap?

That was a joke. As cheesy as it sounds, the best thing to do on campus that’s free is hanging out with your friends. If you’re new to campus and haven’t found any yet, attending club meetings is a fun way to meet new people with the same interest as you. Unfortunately, making new friends does require some level of putting yourself out there, so you can’t expect to meet new people by just showing up. But, genuinely, the best, low-cost entertainment comes from spending time with people you love.

Sincerely,

Filly
