It’s time for the intramural sports season to begin phase two at ABAC and the recreation department is looking for teams interested in competing. The intramural season is broken down into two phases per semester. A new set of sports different from the ones in the fall semester will be played in spring 2020.

“If you were an athlete in high school and want to still compete with and against people, this gives you a chance to do that,” said Jason Pace, ABAC Recreational Sports Director.

The following sports will be played in phase two: Blitzball, golf (four man scramble), indoor volleyball, kickball, men’s basketball, soccer and tennis. The phase two season starts with the first games on Oct. 21.

According to Pace, intramural sports can be a great way for students to meet each other. “The social interaction and getting to know your fellow classmates and students is good,” said Pace. “It also gives students some physical benefits and a chance to get outside and be active. That helps with a student’s overall wellbeing and relieves stress.” Most teams sign up at the last minute, but Pace encourages interested students to register as soon as possible before phase one registration comes to an end.
