Stallion Day, ABAC’s recurring campus event, allowed dozens of potential ABAC students to learn about the school and what it means to be a Stallion.
Held on Sept. 20, aspiring ABAC students along with their families took part in campus tours, where they were able to explore the campus and learn about its history. Not only did this give them a look at where certain buildings are located, but it also introduced them to students and faculty across campus.
Students were also brought on farm and housing tours. Residence housing tours are essential for a college tour; they help students be informed about what type of dorm setting they will be living in while also helping them prepare for any dorm essentials they might need.
Near the end of this event, Club Connections was held in Gressette Gym, allowing students to meet the deans and professors of each school and learn more about ABAC’s degree programs, in addition with meeting more than 60 student clubs and organizations.
Ryan Hogan, vice president of student enrollment marketing and communications, said, “Stallion Day is a great opportunity for perspective students to see what we have to offer at ABAC. They are able to visit different academic areas, student organizations, see the residence housing, and learn all the wonderful things about what it means to be a student at ABAC.”
Russ Fenn, RSO representative for the History and Government Club, said, “We’re trying to start meeting every Tuesday, where we talk about history, world events, we talk about whatever. We’re trying to get some trips started and hopefully going to Washington, D.C.”
Others revealed what their favorite part of Stallion Day was.
Owen Russell said, “My favorite part of Stallion Day was meeting new people, meeting people interested in ABAC, and those interested in our club.”
At this Stallion Day, some represented their clubs as newly-elected officers.
Alex Callejas from Agripreneurs said, “This is my first Stallion Day ever, and the reason why I was ever interested in doing Stallion Day was to help guide students, help them to become more open in joining clubs.”
“School involvement is very important for every student joining clubs that’s in their major and then also joining something that is completely out of your major,” Callejas continued. “Diversify your skills, your relationships, connections and be active on campus.”
